1904 Charity Cookbook
In the old days, nurses did all the cooking in hospitals, and Sister Agnes published Recipes of The Charity Hospital Training School for Female Nurses “both as a ready reference… and a souvenir of the school.” We have reproduced this amazing historical window into Charity nursing from over a century ago.
It may not be too useful in a modern kitchen unless you've got a craving for blanc-mange (or you need to stew a squirrel) but it's a delight to read, with a chapter on "Beverages for the Sick" that include a stiff Gin Fizz, and wonderful "Maxims for Nurses" from the very first lecture at the School of Nursing. And if you ever get a job at Gitmo, there's some good Nutrient Enemata, too. Ah, the good old days! Paperback. 5.5" x 8.5"
Adorable wooden ornaments in the image of the CHSN and the CSN-DCC graduation pins. Choose your favorite or get both! Approx. 3.5"
A hauntingly beautiful design by Rae Ann Deroche, Class of 1984, features a weeping angel embracing Charity Hospital within her wings.
Choose from a pack of eight 4.25" x 5.5" note cards with white envelopes, or a 16" x 20" poster suitable for framing.
